I saw them once at Lupo's in Providence. Unbelievable live. Hearing Blake's voice live is just gut-wrenching, and the power coming out of Adam and Chris was unreal.

The Lupo's show was Serpico (formerly Sleeper, for those of you with the "Music for the Proletariat" comp.) and Jawbreaker. I think Jawbox was on the bill, too, but for the life of me I can't remember them playing. Before the show I was standing outside (caught some of the sound check), eating some fries, when around the corner comes Blake. I say, 'How you doing?', but since I have a mouthful of McDonald's best, it comes out something like, 'How ooo gooing?'. He just kinda laughs and says, 'Good, man...' and heads inside. Later, after the doors open and during the breaks, I'm chatting with the dude (a young kid, teenager) behind the merch. table about how the tour is going and traveling with the band and stuff. It was only later that I figured out that it was Blake's brother. I think it was, anyway.

Glad I got to see them.
