Alex Bender's review of audio recording:

Phenomenal performance that bristles with energy. The band seems aware of it, too; Blake notes that he's following advice from his horoscope, which had urged him to "let go of your inhibitions." I've never heard Adam keep a faster beat, and Blake's throat sounds like a belt sander for the entire show. Incidentally, this was the source of the Live at Gilman bootleg 7", which contains the best version of You're Right that I can remember hearing (the other songs pulled from this show are Want, Down, and Fine Day). Blake makes constant reference to some big guy in the crowd wearing a Motorhead t-shirt (actually the head of Gilman security who stands at 6'11" according to the taper). Paul Curran (from Crimpshrine and Maximum Rock'n'Roll) provides back-up vocals in parts of Equalized. Big and Shield Your Eyes are the standard early versions. Before Big, Blake introduces the song as "a ballad," and Shield Your Eyes is dedicated to the band Fuel and a couple of friends (Fuel and Samiam were also on the bill). In the latter song, Blake breaks a string and manages to halt the song quite smoothly; while he changes his string, Adam and Chris perform a short jam.
